I'm getting ready to reload some 200gr hard cast hunting loads for my pistol but am unsure what to use for powder. any help would be great. I'm thinking a fast burning powder would be best?
What type of load are you wanting? A mellow target load, or are you wanting a powerful hunting load? For target I would think faster would be better. For power, Blue Dot or 800X burns slower and builds more pressure.
Be very careful getting load data, especially high performance off any forum. Best bet is to go to the powder manufactures websites.
Good luck and be safe.

If the toolbar was working I would post a .pdf of the load data from my Lee Second edition manual. I just happened to have it with me at work today. It lists two powder charges for cast bullets. Accurate #9 and Ramshot Silhouette. I am not posting the recipe. I would post the scan, but I don't want anyone to think I made up the data. PM me and I will send you the scan. Accurate #9 is a medium burning powder. Blue dot would be a little faster and is about the same as IMR 800x. Ramshot would be the fastest of the ones I listed, but I haven't seen it at my LGS that I buy powder from. I would use a medium burning powder for a bigger cartridge like the 10mm. Typically heavier bullets perform better with slower burning powder allowing time for gases to fully expand as the bullet moves down the barrel. Smaller bore barrels with lighter bullets benefit from a faster burning powders. The 10mm has plenty of case volume to there is no need to go too fast. I wouldn't go any faster than Gold dot, but would probably use Blue Dot.
Don't retreat! Reload!!!
