W231 is the same as Hodgdon Hp-38. Although, I don't use it I know those that do. It is an ok powder. I prefer IMR, but that is just my preference. You should find it sufficient.

231 is a good powder for 9mm. It's a good powder for lots of pistol cartridges., I've used it this week for both 9mm FMJ and .45 ACP LSWC rounds. It meters well in my new Hornady press.

I also am a 231 user and like Ed says, it meters well, in my RCBS dumper.

Have y'all tried 3.9 grs of 231? I was thinking of loading it for a light practice load for my 19.

    Good Shooting,

    Mike

For what bullet? I use 231 for 9mm loads, but a bit larger charge.... It's definitely not over charged! Just pay attention for "squibs" and let us know how it works for you.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the bullet is a hardcast 125 LRN from Meister Bullets.

Yes, Bullseye is a very good choice for 9mm but I am out of it at this time and had some 231 on hand. In all my years of shooting. my Glock 17 and 19 are the first 9mm handguns I have ever owned.

    Good shooting,

    Mike
