    Permit to carry class

Just took my renewal class for my Minnesota Permit to Carry. I have to wait until October to turn in paperwork to local Sheriff. Should be good for another 5 years. I am rewarding myself with a new purchase, a G42...or a G43.

Why so long of a wait? Are you still legal to carry in between now and then?
I know laws are different in every state but that seems like a long time to wait to turn in paperwork.

Sorry I wasn't to clear. In Minnesota the class is good for a year. My permit expires in November, but I can only apply for renewal 60 days prior to expiration.

NamVetJoe, not sure if you are just sending a friendly invite to Florida, or maybe it is a comment about my beloved State.

First, I think I would keel over from the heat and humidity
Second, I think Minnesota Gun laws are not that restrictive. A "Permit to Carry" is just that. To carry. Concealed or open (generally not recommended). Minnesota is a "shall issue" state. Meaning the local Sheriff is required to issue a permit, unless there is something in the background check, records, etc., that would prohibit the permit. A class is required and then when completed, you send in application for permit. What I mentioned in the previous post was that when a person renews, the class is good for a year, and one can only submit paperwork 60 days or less prior to old permit's expiration. So no lapse in permit, and permits are good for 5 tears.
    Hope this clears things up

Just an update for those who care.
I received new permit in the mail 21 days after submitting the paperwork (on a Friday, I think).

So, which one did you pick, the G42 or G43?

Ha...I am going with the 43. But I might just do the 19 instead. I thought I really wanted a 42, but who knows. I really wish the 26/27 fit my hand, but there is something about those two that just don't feel right (I know, another topic).
