Thread: got my CHL

Congrats.... I just received mine yesterday. From the time I did the class/gun quals it took about 30 days to get in the mail. In the meantime, I've been doing a lot of defensive & tactical classes.

Congrats on your CHL. I just found out that my Passport Photos failed and need to be resubmitted. Guess I will be waiting a little longer than you.

John, my wife's fingerprint card also failed so she ended up redoing them; except this time, she went ahead and paid for the electronic fingerprint scan that also includes the photo. Good luck man.

That does not sound like a bad price. The firearms dealer where I took the class (8 Hours)charges $100 ($85 if two people register for the class together.
The local Sheriff's Department charges $80 dollars to do the paperwork and background check, and $10 dollars to fingerprint.
Note: The application required 3 references. The Sheriff's Department never contacted any of my references. Maybe because of previous
background checks for military security clearances. The whole process from class to permit issue was 3 weeks. In a county nearby it takes three weeks to
to get an appointment just to get the application! Go Figure.

That is what I should have done, I did think about it. Now we are out of state and will have to do everything long distance. Hope your wife's comes through soon.
