I recently got a bottle of Frog Lube and a smaller bottle of paste. When I shoot its 200-500 rounds in a session so I tend to clean after each range day. After getting my bottle I was asked if I would go home and re-clean my gun. I did but was skeptical. I couldn't believe the carbon that I removed with the Frog lube from a "clean" gun.
The Instructions say to warm up the lube in the microwave and get the gun warm also for best results. I grabbed the wife's hair drier. She was about to go ballistic when she smelled the lube and was then ok with it. It smells like peppermint.
A week later I went to an indoor range that I know the guys pretty well. The manager like to come out and BS with me while we shoot. I hadn't put a round through my 31 yet and asked him to check out the slide on mine compared to his. There was a noticeable difference in the "action". After shooting "500 rounds" I broke mine down and wiped it down with a micro fiber towel. All the carbon came off the slide and barrel. I got home and did a proper cleaning and was amazed that I only needed 2 patches. There is zero carbon build up and its VERY clean. The only thing I am concerned with is copper build up over the long run as I dont think this stuff dissolves copper.
Does anyone use Frog Lube, and if so what are your thoughts?
i use and love it!!! i use it on everything from 1911 to AR to glock...switched from hoppes and wont look back...youll notice as well if you ccw that it doesnt attract dirt like hoppes does...the more you use the easier it is to clean
My son just started using it on department issued G-22. He recommended it to me. Glad to hear more confirming results. Thanks.
Thanks for the tip on this stuff. I'm new to guns but a clean freak so I like to keep my G27 clean. I'll see if my local gun shop has some and try it out.
Keep everyone posted. I plan on giving it a thorough test as well in the near future.
The term "Undocumented Alien" is like calling a drug pusher an "Un-Licensed Pharmacist"

I went to my big local gunshop/range...they don't have Frog Lube...never heard of it. They said to use some Mil-Tec and the gunsmith again told me just to simply use Mobil 1 0w40 or anyother lighter weight Mobil 1. Hummm......
I have never heard of "Frog Lube" either. I will have to check the LGS, to see if they have any. I wonder if it is available on the internet? Will have to find out.
Looked on the web alot and found on various forums that because Frog Lube is dry that it can cause FTE's and jams. Found people that have gone back to other lubes that work better in protecting metal and viscosity.
