Talking Help Me Decide: G43 Or .....????

I'm thinking about my next Glock purchase. I have a (Saturday) date set in August which I plan to make the drive (130mi/rd/trip) for my first 'in-person' purchase at: GT Dist., Dallas using one of my GSSF certificates for a blue label pistol......I'm thinking which model should it be..?? So, I ask myself the typical question: what is it's intended purpose? target/plinker pistol; carry pistol; hide around the property security pistol/night stand pistol; tactical/hunting pistol; -or-heaven forbid-safe queen.

So, I ask myself, out of the possibilities above, which would provide the most usefullness for me....??

So, I'm thinking, carry pistol. That's potentially a everyday use. But, then I ask myself, why not get what could be potentially banned if that women rigs the election.....

So, the choice would be, either, G43, G42 or G41, G34. I think that in terms of caliber, I would eliminate G42 because it would only unto itself. I would not have any other model in that caliber. So, that leaves G43 or G34 or G41.

So, then I think about usefullness; praticality; which one gives me the most bang for the buck in that regard......so, I think I'm landing on G43. It's smaller than G26, my daily carry piece. The G43 would not replace my 26, but, sorta augment it. In the summer months especially.

So, you guys that carry G43 and have/had the G26; what's your preference and why?

Recently, MtStream post a thread about the connectors I believe. I'm wondering if G43's are being shipped with the new connectors?

Also, nothing against Glock, but you guys whose had experience other makes of pistol, such as Walther PPK or any other reputable makers, I would love to hear your thoughts on a carry sized, reliable pocket type pistol (similair in size to G43), in 9mm preferably.

I have thought about looking at other brands. Although, I have held the G43, and I did like the size ok. I've not shot one though.

What are you guys opinions on the concealed carry sized pistols out there which compete with G43?????

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and insight....

ADD: I've also thought about looking at what S&W has to offer. I'd like to stay with 9mm or .45acp

If you going to check S&W, check the MP9 shield (very similar to G43) and very easy to conceal.

My. 2¢, it came down to the 43 and the shield at the time of purchase, both makers offer a blue label program with the shield being about $30 cheaper. Shield holds more rounds standard, but the model in stock had a manual safety. I sold my 26 to make this purchase and decided on the 43 because of the excellent history I've had with Glock. It carries like a dream, shoots true (I did add pinky extensions) and just feels right. It's not much smaller than the 26 but it carries so much better in shorts and a t-shirt. All weapons have pros and cons, you have to hold them to know which one is yours. Anyone's advice is secondary to that.

Thanks. I'm definitely looking into the G43. I'm goona find some of the other brands to compare. I thought about Walther.....and S&W. On the other hand, I may just keep it Glock....still have a few weeks to make up my mind.

I am a Glock fanboy but do also appreciate some of the others as well.

I have a friend that swears by his Shield. I'm a S&W fan and have been till they did a knock off Glock. That made me look closer at Glock and I have changed. But my revolvers are S&W's 357 mag.

I have a G23 for duty use, a G26 for everyday carry, and I just recently picked up a G43 for summer carry. To me it is a great combo of carry guns. The best benefit is that they are all the same platform so switching between them is nothing and you're already used to the controls. Muscle memory is important so if you already carry a glock everyday, my advice is stick with them. I was in basically the same boat as you when I decided to get the G43. I wanted something small I could throw in a pocket if necessary or conceal even better than the G26 (which really does conceal well even in summer clothes). The G43 fits the bill perfectly.

    Same dilema

Shield is a good piece...I like the 43 handle seems a little thicker to hold.

Thoughts on the Taurus Slim 709????

Also wheres a good place to get glock accessories!

If I get the 43 Id want extra mags and maybe the red front sight
