Yes, you are wrong. There was a very recent release of a ""limited"" number of both the G17C and G19C generation 4's released. As far as I know, there are a couple G19C gen 4's available on Gunbroker, but, their asking crazy prices for them. There are or were some G17C gen 4's available still as well.
One of the members here got one (G17C G4). I think he paid retail. The G19C's on Gunbroker are selling well ABOVE retail. $700 + was the last one I found.
Add: I tried to get a G19C G4 at retail and could NOT get it. I already have a early gen3 19C, but would have loved to have a gen 4 19C. 19's I sorta collect for some odd reason. But, there is a limit on what I'm willing to pay. Maybe I'll come across one used.
Glock does make them for other markets but not for the US. I spoke with Glock when they first showed up. What was released here were overruns from an order. They currently do not have plans to produce for the US market.
Tim, a similar thing happened to me as you - I threw a bid onto a Gen4 19c on Gunbroker and won. The dealer called me "we described the gun wrong, it's a Gen3 . . . still want it?" [Sigh] "no"
There are some out there in the $560/ $570 range. I just cant bring myself to pay that much. Love my Gen4 17c though!
There is also something strange I'd like to mention, the groove inside the barrel seems less aggressive than on my G19 gen 3.
