Glock 30sf question...

Hey guys,

I recently bought a g30sf from gander mountain. When I first got it (around 2 months ago) I thought the guy gave me a 30s on accident, because it has 30s engraved on the slide. It is indeed a 30sf as marked on the frame. I recently noticed on a video that the guy didn't have his sf slide marked "30s" like mine, it was just marked "30". Is this something new glock is doing? Did I get a "hybrid" new from factory? I haven't been able to find any info on this, so any input would be much appreciated!

Thanks

The 30s is a Glock-made hybird. It's the G30 Short Frame with a G36 slide. I have one and it's my favourite pistol.
To get any aftermarket parts like a barrel it takes parts for the G36. Frame parts connector and trigger parts use G30 parts. I use it as my every day carry pistol.
It also fits in holsters for the smaller Glocks. I can carry it in holsters for my G19 and also I can use the Blackhawk SERPA holster for the G30s for my G19, that's handy.
Personally I think you got a nice surprise. If you watch any videos from Hickok45 on You Tube he does several in depth vids about the G30s.

Yeah, you bought the G30S. It's on my bucket list. I have a G30 g4. And as Super stated; the frame parts are of the G30SF (G30) and the upper is of a G36.

I think I would have gotten more use of my 30 had I went with the 30S in the beginning. It's just as thick as the G21. Just shorter is all.

Enjoy. Merry Christmas.
