The facinating thing about not being able to type the forum that shall not be named, is they're owned by the same company as this one.

Some days I want to turn off spellcheck on my phone too !

I use words/phrases that are not really in a Funk and Wagnalls and sometimes me and the phone have a battle to text what I am saying ...

Josey Wales: When I get to likin' someone, they ain't around long.
Lone Watie: I notice when you get to DISlikin' someone they ain't around for long neither.

Just to focus back on on this one point: so there IS tension on the firing pin spring when the trigger is not dry fired before storage?

Would said tension cause any harm if left for months in that state between use?

    In a word NO

Here's a link to a you tube of the training Glock. It's a cut away pistol. It shows the striker after the pistol has fired and reset, while the trigger is being pulled and when it fires.
