My oldest grandson has a Glock 27 in 40 cal. I reload for him. The other day I saw where I could buy him a 9mm drop in barrel for the 27 and will probably buy it as an early Christmas present. I will probably also buy him at least one 9mm magazine. I have two questions related to this conversion.
1. Will the G 26 9mm magazine fit the G27?
2. Will he need to change the recoil spring when using the 9mm barrel?
I know years ago I bought a Sig 229 in 40 and it came with a 357 Sig barrel. I bought a drop in 9mm barrel but had to sub 9mm magazine but didn't have to do anything about the recoil spring. I have a gut feeling that the G26 mag will work with the G27 and he won't have to bother with another recoil spring, but I just wanted to make sure.
Is my gut right or wrong??
I don't believe the 26 9 mm barrel will work in the 27. The outside diameter is to small.

It's pretty obvious that the OP was talking about a conversion barrel.

You are supposed to use G26 magazines and extractor. I never have and No issues, if using for defense purposes I would follow the barrel makers instructions
NOTE putting 9mm rounds in a 40 cal magazine you can exceed the cal 10 round limit
