    G17l

I took my G17L to range yesterday. It sucks so far.

Every other round FTF. I used 115gr, 124gr, 147gr and none worked very well.

The 124gr, by the 5th mag, would go 2-3 rds before FTF.

    What's up with this gun??

I took four pistols yesterday. All were new, unfired guns except my G26 (it did not miss a shot).

I took the G19C gen 4. It had one hiccup at the end of the 4th mag. Otherwise, it did ok but
    don't yet trust it.

I took my G40 MOS. First time shooting it. That thing is AWESOME. It's a sweet shooter and did not experience
    any FTF/FTE. Smooth it is.

    (3) of the four guns have never been fired before; outside of my 26, I have confidence in the G40. The 19C g4 may be ok,
but, it needs to be fired more before I say it's G2G.

That G17L, I'm disgusted with it.

FTF... Failure to Feed or Failure to Fire?

Are you using the same magazines for all of the 9mm guns?

Have you changed anything on any of these guns?

Describe in more detail what is actually happening...

I have a new Glock 17L I have put over 200 rounds thru the gun with no hang ups. Did you lube the gun ?. I have been shooting over 65 years and I lube every gun I own even Glocks which I have six and they all work. Put some more rounds thru the gun.

Failure to feed. The round would lay cross-ways.

    I had (6 or 7) 9mm - 17rd mags. I reloaded them several times using RN 115gr, 124gr and 147gr ammo.

The G26 did fine with them. The G19C did ok. It had one hiccup , second to last round of the 4th mag through it.

The G17L, around the 7th or 8th mag would go about 4-5 rounds (124gr) and then FTF again. I do not see anything
    obviously wrong with it.

The G17L, G19C g4 and G40 are all new. First time I've shot them. The G40 is good. It never failed to go bang.
    The 19C only failed once.
The G17L....I do not think it's mags causing issue.

kinda hard to put rounds through it when every other round fails to chamber.

Only one POSSIBLE answer. ..limpwristing. Or maybe weak mag springs. If you were using the new mags that came with the 17l, then it's not the mags. Maybe you got a lemon. I'll give you $500 for the 17l and be happy to take it off your hands.

I thought about that Walter. I focused on that to make sure it was not the case.
I'm gonna take it out again next weekend. Seems like if I was doing that, I would
have done it with the others. Especially the 26.

I don't think it was mags either. They worked on the 26 and 19C.

I'm gonna use the same mags as last weekend too. I know which ones
    it was.

BTW, did you see that 17L gen 2 on GB? Their asking $10,252.50. NO JOKE.
There's one born every day LOL

So, you ran 7 or 8 magazines through the 17L before there was a malfunction? That's not so bad for a brand new gun... I'd just shoot it some more...

Might want to check out the extractor... make sure it's not broken or chipped... Maybe check out the ejector, too... Make sure it's not bent...

Tim, the 26 least sensitive to limpwristing; 17l most sensitive. Weak ammo exacerbates.

I had ejection issues with mine out of the box. I put in a lighter recoil spring after a few hundred rounds I switched back to stock spring and it ran fine.
