    Zev or aftermarket barrel fit?

    Hello,

I have a glock 19 gen 4 stock slide with zev barrel. Shot it 300 rounds, was shooting little high. But was thinking it was me.
My glock barrel set flush with my slide, this zev barrel is about 1mm lower than slide. Is this normal?
I contacted zev and if I had bought it from a author dealer they would just exchange. But I bought on eBay new. Zev Rep said the ones he had there were all flush.
    Here are the pics.

Nope, should be flush. Pretty chickenschict that Zev won't exchange, but the fix is usually easy. Probably need to file a little on the length of the barrel hood. Just file a little at a time until it's flush. If you file a little too much, no harm done.

    It's possible its a knockoff.

To add some more detail to Walter's suggestion - if the barrel isnt flush because the fit is too tight, the typical process for fitting is to file a tiny bit at a time from the front (barrel side) of the hood.

I ordered one from MidwayUSA, getting tomorrow. And fighting with the eBay seller for return. Going to be fun. Guess I learned my lesson on saving $50 on eBay.

Drop in parts are the same whether it is a pistol, automobile, or motorcycle, I ordered a cool license plate frame for the harley and had to customize it on the grinder to make it fit the tail light ...

Depending on your capabilities and patience, I would have kept the zev and worked on making it close flush, and I can side with Zev on buying it from a third party from fleabay, jmo of course.

Been following this thread. rlacrossjr, welcome to the forum. If the barrel from Midway fits the way we're all expecting, can you take a photo and post it? That e-bay seller should be called out-- especially if it's a knockoff.
    Question your assumptions

I've never handled a ZEV barrel. What are the clues to look for to see if it's legit?

We don't deal in gun parts or repairs but the company I work for generally won't warranty ebay purchases either. The stuff I've personally seen come in from ebay purchasers wanting warranty work include items stolen from distributors and our own warehouse, items past their warranty date (generally 2 years after date of manufacture) and sold by distributors instead of being returned for credit and items charged off and thrown away then sold by someone going through dumpsters (including the one outside our warehouse).

eBay user excepted return and so its on its way for refund. I got the DLC version, from MidwayUSA Here is a pic. Not flush but very close. Say with in 0.2mm of flush, which think will shoot in to flush after couple 100 rounds
