    G17L, G31 and G33

Back to the range this morning. Shot my G17L some more.

I am absolutely loving that gun. Had my doubts the first time out with it. FTF every other round the first time.
Now, it eats what ever I feed it including Freedom ammo in all three weights I have tucked away.

I took some of the NATO ammo and Freedom ammo this morning and all (7) mags I used when it had issue first
time out. I wanted to prove the mags and the ammo. I definitely can tell the difference in the two brands.
I should have done this the second time out with the 17L.

The second time out was strictly NATO ammo and it eats it like candy. Today, after using approx 500 rounds total of NATO ammo,
I switched to Freedom ammo. Not a hiccup one. I can tell that Freedom is weaker ammo. I'm still gonna use it.
It's (Freedom's ammo) is a lil more cost effective for plinking.

My G33, it's ok. Not thrilled with it. I need to either practice more with it or put it up. Takes me much longer to get
back on target with it. I like the G31. Don't have a G32.

My G's 31 and 33 (both new gen 3's) had their first outing today as well. Not a hiccup and I used Freedom's ammo too.
I'm getting where I like gen 3 more than gen 4. Didn't think I would say that either.

If I had to choose between the .357 and the 10mm, I'll take the 10mm any day; so far. Definitely need to practice with .357.

I'm really liking NATO 9mm ammo.

I also trid a new lube today I had not used before. I got it for my AR's.....frog lube.
I'm liking that stuff. Spendy though for lube. But, even when my G17L got kinda warm today, I got home with it and disassembled it.
that lube seems to stay put. Have not shot any of my AR's yet using it. That will be the real test.

Anyway, LOVING the G17L. I think I might need another one lol. Two is one with my sickness.

Add: Also, I did NOT get brass to the face (BTF) with the NATO ammo. The 17L spits out the NATO casings to my 3-4 o'clock.

I DID get BTF using Freedom ammo G17L.

The G31 occurred a few times and the G33 did not at all (Freedom ammo).....

Good to hear the 17L is running now.

How snappy is the .357 SIG? My experience is a mag or two through a 229 that belonged to a friend and it seemed very snappy in the recoil department.

Yes, the 33 was definitely very snappy. I don't care much for .357 over all. I thought I would prefer it over .40. Nope, not really. I suspect I will never own a G32.
Since I have these two (31/33), that's enough of the .357 for me.

It takes me much longer to get back on target with the 33. I find it very snappy. I thought I wouldn't mind it for a carry piece. Nope. I'm putting those two away and forget them.

One thing is for sure; I like the 17L, but, either I find a new grip, or, the dremel is coming out. I have a blister on my trigger finger. Certain Glock models
rub my trigger finger and cause me to shoot slightly left.

I can double tap the 17L and stay on target. But, I don't see the need to have to tape up my trigger finger to prevent injury to it because I want to shoot.
None of my other guns does this. My friends say to dump the Glocks and go S&W and Sig.

i like my simple guns lol. But, I don't like sore trigger finger either. It was the 17L that did it. I only shot a few mags each through the 31/33.
All the rest was the 17L. The 33 did NOT do it. The 31, yes, about the same as the 17L in terms how it rubs my trigger finger raw.
i don't like to hack my guns. But, if I stay with Glock, somethings gotta change, for sure.

I have amassed quiet a few Glocks in just a few years. So, rather than chop them or dump them, I suppose for now, I'll work on my grip, but,
    it may be futility.

I thought about whining some more OT and post a pic of my trigger finger. Two blisters, one on the side and the G33 bit me on the tip of my finger.....
The G26 NEVER has done that. The tip of my finger has a blood blister. Somehow, the G33 trigger pinched the tip of my finger. I remember when it happened.

I got up this morning and thought my the tip of finger was dirty lol. I examine it, and nope, it's a blood blister. So, until I find a different grip, I'll tape it....
I've dumped a few bucks into these guns. Their still less expensive than playing on the track with fast cars LOL. A set of sport cup track tires alone $$$.
And those cars eat tires up on the track, as fast as the car is LOL. Then after some hours on the track, the engine needs refreshed.
    Guns are much less expn$ive.

Add: BTW, the reason I had the tip of my trigger finger on the trigger area was because the first time I tried to pull the trigger, for some reason, the trigger lock did not disengage to release the trigger. So, finally, it released and when it did, the tip of my finger was there and some how wedged in between the lock and the trigger and pinched it.
Makes me appreciate smooth triggers. I think the serration on the trigger may have had a burr/rough spot on it. This was the first round/first time to shoot it.

That was my initial impression but it was almost 10 years ago so I thought I might be mis-remembering.

Because of mag compatibility I'm married to 9mm Glocks for my EDC, "get back home bag", etc but I've dabbled with the others. Going back to the original Sigmas, I can't abide the S&W trigger and I'm not a trigger snob at all. I greatly enjoy the pre-lock S&W revolvers and their metal semi-autos but their plastic offerings don't work for me. I haven't handled the SIG yet but I do like my XD-M even though I haven't had any range time with it yet. I liked the XD-S .45 I had but my hands won't take a small .45 anymore.

After I do lots of practicing, I'm going to reshape and stipple at least some of mine. I suffer the curse of short stubby fingers so that hump has got to go. I can make it work but I'm ready to stop adapting to the grip and start making the grip adapt to me.

FWIW Le Mans is this weekend. I'm watching it on the Fox Sports Go app.

Thanks. I know what ya mean concerning grips.

These are some of my favorite handguns:

    G40, G21, G17L, G19C, G26 and Smith 44mag (circa 1972 I think)

I was about to buy a XD but right about that time the Springfield Armory messed up in Illinois. So, in protest, I did not buy it.
Many peeps do like them for sure.

The XD-S made it's way to me before all that (and was replaced with a G26) and the XD-M OSP was already on layaway when it all went down so I was already committed. For the time being I look at SA like I do S&W. I won't buy a new one but used ones are fair game. That way the shop gets the benefit, not the manufacturer.

Nice Model 29. I've go a 4" Model 57 that handles my N Frame Magnum duties.
