Im not sure how to sell my glock. I would like to sell the gen 4 glock 19 for about $400 and am in virginia but do not know how to sell a gun. If anyone can help me i would appreciate it!
local sell would be easy and you could list it on here. Otherwise you would have to have fees paid from your local FFL dealer and have them ship it to another FFL. Someone please correct me if I am wrong!
This is my Glock. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.
I'm not sure about VA rules, but normally, you'd list it up for sale somewhere (like in our classifieds here),
Meet the buyer at a local gun shop and they'll do the transfer for you..
If the buyer is too far to meet for the sale:
Get the name and address along w/ the FFL license number of the gun shop where they want it shipped.. you'd then go to your local gun shop and have them ship it to the other one. You'll have to pay shipping - so include that in your listing.. they'd pay you w/ paypal, check, money order, etc.. DON'T SHIP IT WITHOUT PAYMENT..
Basically sounds about right although I would try to check on the local laws. In GA, I can sell a firearm to a private buyer here in GA. I usually ask to see their weapons license to make me feel a bit better about them being legal, etc.. but it is not required. I cannot sell a firearm ot my Father-In-Law when he comes to visit me from NC.
AS mentioned, if you do it out of state, you will need to take it to a license FFL dealer/person and have them ship it to another FFL local to the buyer. There is transfer fees involved and I believe you have to overnight the firearm which can be expensive. I am no lawyer and I do not know Virgina law so please try and verify.

If i sell it locally how much do you think the shop will charge for transfer?
Price varies from shop to shop, there is no set fee.
I think the last ine i did here in PA was about $30 to xfer.. buyer pays that along with any background check charges, etc..
Why do you want to get rid of you Glock 19

Here in Texas all that has to happen is the two private parties involved come to an agreement, meet up somewhere, make the deal and go your own way. We have no license per gun or gun registration here.
