I have deleted the information that I had posted before because I have massed much more information and have posted my completed workings on GLOCK pistol history & evolution here ( http://www.glockforums.org/showthrea...ted=1#post2211 ). It is much more updated and more accurate. I will get it set as a sticky once I can figure out how to do it. I decided to build it as a knowledge base for everyone here in the community and for any guests that just happen to browse around the site. So please enjoy it. Happy Shootin! Boomer.

Boomer,
Great info dude. I do't know I Gen1 had a dual recoil spring or not but my guess is no. Like I said just a guess. Let me know if i am wrong every one. Boomer again thanks for the time and info.
interesting info, thanks

Thanks for the compliment, I am not entirely certain about the recoil assembly in the Gen1s, I have found some other info that suggest otherwise, plus not having seen one makes me wonder too. That first post was a rough draft, I have since then found some more info to add to the pot plus some corrections I need to make also. So if anyone has a Gen1 they wouldnt mind field stripping and posting some pix of I would appreciate it. Thanks, Boomer.

I dont care for 9mm, but heck ya. Id prolly run a box of WWB through it just to make sure it works, then clean it up and let it be a collectible safe queen.

OK, heres the low down on the Gen 1 19
Only a few dozen Gen1 19s were made. These were prototypes for made for the ATF as prerelease examination samples. They were made by placing a block in the dust cover area of a 17 mold to make the dust cover shorter. The mag wells were had cut at the factory from the 17 to 19 length. These pistols would have been marked with a 5 digit serial number with a “J” as the first digit which denotes a prototype.
