    What would you add.....

To a standard g23 to make it more "tactical" for home defense?

I am very new to the pistol world and even more so to the glock world

I recently bought my glock 23 (4th gen) and I am trying to get an idea of what kind of accessories might be good to have with it ( lights lasers sights etc)

    A few things up front
I am a recently engaged college student so funds could be an issue
I am looking for things that can either easily be removed or can fit in a blackhawk serpa holster

Also if it is possible links to the items would be much appreciated

Thanks a lot in advance and I hope I'm not asking too much

    Not trying to be smart but I would add the following;

    Ammo
    Training.

Being "new to the pistol world", you should take as much training (from a reputable trainer) as your budget will allow. Save your money on lights/laser/carbide aiming tools/super duper doo wizzles and spend it on training and ammo to practice what you learn. Then practice some more and then practice some more.

    Good luck!

    Exactly what TheLaw said.

I'd add either night sights or a CT Laser.

    Lots of training

I think a light is a good addition to a home self defense weapon... I have a Streamlight TLR-1s on mine... They are reasonably priced and go on and off easily...

Alternately, you could opt for a handheld light if you'd rather... Get a nice tactical light...

    Training first.

Throw on a x300 or TLR-1 and take a good low light class to learn proper low/No light techniques.

Lasers are good as another tool in the tool box but if you go that route make sure you learn the proper use and application for their use.

I agree with TheLaw: Ammo & Training. I would also get additional high capacity mags.....the Federal Assault Weapons Ban may return.
