    Pistol Configuration

    One of my buddies at work was asking me what I would do if I had the choice of 9mm of .40 cal GLOCK for SD carry.

    He was asking me about;
    17 or 22 at stock length, chop it to compact or subcompact grip
    19 or 23 at stock length, full length mags with a sleeve, or chop to subcompact length
    26 or 27 at stock length or carry compact or full length mags with a sleeve.

    As for my thoughts, Id stay with my 23 stock length or my 27 stock and I like the option of 23 mags with a sleeve.

    Dear Lord Man .... the 19 is perfect. No sleeves, no chopping, and no need for .40 cal

    If you check the Picture Gallery, you'll see that one of our members has already completed one of your modifications.

    I won't spoil it, I'll let him post about it...

    I'd go with 23 or 27 too... I like the .40 Cal round plus you're not taking too much of a hit if you carry 13 rounds vs 15... It only takes 1

    Personally im a big fan of the 9mm, thats another thread. I carry a g17 cut down to a G19 grip. easier to conceal but still have the benefits of a longer barrel and sight base.

    I don't cut on mine. I leave them like they are with exception of a few drop in parts or night sights or something.

    i don't understand why anyone would chop a 22 or 23 to take the smaller mags. most folks are complaining about too few rounds and i use a 22 mag in the 27.

    wtf, a 1/2 to 1" longer sight radius is a biggy at 7 yards???

    easier to conceal. and who says you might not have to engage threats out to 100 yds with your pistol?

    Good point...

    ...because it is hard to conceal an ar-15...
