You CAN buy Gen 4 Glocks in CA

I live in CA, and I just purchased a Gen 4 G19 this past Saturday. Im not law enforcement either. Its true they arent on the 'approved' hand gun list, but due to the "Single Shot Exemption", you can.

I purchased mine from Sacramento Black Rifle. In order to purchase a Gen 4 as a civilian, they have to register the gun through the DOJ as a "'single shot". Meaning, only one round can be inserted at a time through the ejection port. The magazine cant feed the next round. So, what the boys at SBR did, is install a 10" barrel they made, that blocks the magazine from being fed. Then they register it. After 10 days when you go to pick it up, YOU have to remove their barrel and reinstall the factory one. After that, its perfectly legal to own and shoot.

Ill post pics of their 'barrel' and my first Glock when I pick it up.

Past stupid rule, what a waste of time and money at the buyers expense ...................

This falls right in line with the people making the rules do not have a clue !

From a posting I made on another site :

when pressed by MSNBC host Tucker Carlson to explain elements of an “assault weapons” ban she introduced that included a barrel shroud among prohibited features, McCarthy was unable to explain what that was, finally postulating it was “that shoulder thing that goes up.”
New York Assemblywoman Patricia Eddington, who authoritatively informed attending journalists “some of these bullets have an incendiary device on the tip of it, which is a heat-seeking device, so you don’t shoot deer with a bullet that size. If you do, you cook it at the same time.”
Not to be outdone, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy issued a statement actually blaming the Norway shootings on “lax US gun laws.” If only, she asserts, we would pass her standard-capacity magazine ban into law (what the antis call “assault clips” as a convenient sound bite to elicit a fear response from the ignorant), foreign terrorists would no longer be able to acquire them.
New Brady poster boy Colin Goddard, who was helpless during the Virginia Tech murders and now endorses laws to impose defenselessness on the rest of us, expressed outrage. “I was soon infuriated,” he pouted, “by the gun fanatics in America who immediately used this massacre to assert that strong gun laws, like Norway’s, don’t work.”

Its pretty silly, but it enables us to get the handguns we want, regardless of them being on the 'approved' list.

No, I understand that you have to do what you have to do. Here in GA, even though we have nothing like the laws in California, a few years ago our carry laws were much worse. It took a concerted effort of a group of hardworking individuals that wanted change to make a difference. People writing their legislators, making phone calls, showing up at meetings, sending emails and faxes, etc.. all makes a difference. This is the legal way to get changes done. I'm sure in some areas it would be an uphill battle but with enough support, it can be done.

Our carry laws are much better now than they were just a few short years ago. With a GWCL, we can pretty much carry just about anywhere now. Obvious restrictions on Court Rooms, Federal Buildings, Colleges and Schools unless picking up or dropping off. WEre working on those as well.

Understood. Its sad to see how off-track our country has gotten. What Big Government doesnt want to understand is that by 'approved' citizens carrying, it can actually reduce crime. Those of us who go through the legal process of purchasing/registering our firearms, arent the ones committing all these crimes. I understand some do, but the vast majority are law-abiding citizens whos only intentions are to protect ourselves, our property, and our family.

Reminds me of Ohio's law that 30+ capacity magazines make a gun an "automatic weapon." What a joke some legislators are.

    Wow, I'm stunned...

The problem is... If you swap out the barrel yourself, you are probably in violation of the law... Not so good if you need to use the gun for self defense or something...
