I posted this over at Glock Talk as well. Just thought I would pick everyones brain here. I have added the LaserMax springrod laser and the Pierce grip extensions to my G30. The only thing else I am needing is a good set of night sights. On my previous 30 I had the factory, I believe they are Meprolite sights, on it. They were the all green. I have been looking online and think I want to go with a 2 color set up. I have looked at the big dots, trijicons, and a few others. For you guys that have them installed. What do you have and what made you choose the ones you have in particular. Naturally, most important is fast sight acquirement and the ability to draw without them hanging on my clothing in a moment of need.
This is my primary carry gun, so durability is required. Any help or advice you could give would be appreciated.

Trijicon Green/Green are the best option IMO. They have been proven to be the brightest, and Trijicon has made a very good name for themselves. Have a pair on my G23 and wouldn't trade it them for anything else

I think Trijicon supplies most if not all the tritium used in sights for manufactures, so I would surmise Trijicon would be the best source..
What do you think makes the green/green the best option. I am just thinking having contrasting colors would be easier to find than the same color sights. Im in the homework stage of shopping and nothing is off the table. I am asking everyones opinion so I have all scenarios to help make my choice. Thanks fir helping out.

Green sights have been proven to last longer and are brighter then other colors (orange, yellow, blue). You won't have the contrast difference, but I don't see the purpose for one anyway. When you line up you'r looking for 3 dots in a row, not 1 g,1b,1g. The brightness is really key when purchasing night sights.

I prefer green front, yellow rear or plain rear (no night sight inserts). My personal preference is Ameriglos with the Orange front sight/Green Night sight, with the yellow rear or plain rear. Here are a few threads discussing Night Sights.

Nightsights for my G27?
These are just the first few I found doing a search on Sights. Plenty of discussions on this topic here as we all like to try things and give our opinion.

I like AmeriGlo iDot Pros.... I find it confusing trying to pick out which dots is which with "standard" all green 3 dot sights. With the idots, it's just put one dot on top of the other and I'm "on". I like having green in front, and yellow in the rear as it helps as well.... The big orange outline makes getting on target easy and fast in other than full dark conditions.

I have the GL202s and really like them.
Sucks to get old and not see like we used to!

I like the XS Sights Big Dot. Very easy to see and I tried them at the range today and found I was able to get on target faster with them.
Truglo night sites, not the TFO, $61.00 with shipping on ebay.
I don't have any trouble judging depth so all 3 being green don't bother me, the front is the only one to move the farthest when the gun wiggles so its easy for me to tell the front anyway.
Low light no light they work. Having a diff color in the front, I can see the advantage and if these would have been that way I'd be ok with it. But, I do get along with all green.

I have the Warren Tactical sights on my G35, I have the plain black rear sight and a Tritium front. I did a back to back shooting test last week, using a standard 3 dot night sight setup. I tried all types of low light shooting conditions and I shot best with the single Tritium front sight. The longest range that I shot at was 10 yards and most of the shooting was conducted from 7 yards and closer. The reality of a lethal force encounter is that it will be a close range engagement and you probably will not see or use your sights at all. If a shooter is lucky enough to get on the sights, the most important sight is the front, and you will not have time to get a nice clean sight picture. Most people do not have the opportunity to practice low light shooting, but it is something you should try and practice if your using the gun for self defense.
Shooting a paper target in low light is a lot different than shooting at a live moving target who may be shooting at you in close quarters, the human body does some crazy stuff under stress , training helps but it will effect everyone no matter what the training or experience is. The sights you chose will depend on what you like and how you shoot, it`s nice to have all of the quality sights to choose from.
