The way the pistol fits your hand is important, probably at least as important as your ability to conceal the gun.
If you're going to shoot this pistol a lot and maybe carry it a little, or if you don't need to conceal it well, then maybe the G17 would be better for you. You know how the gun fits, so take that into account. The G17 holds 17 rounds, the G19 holds 15. Other than that and the small size difference, there's no real difference between the two guns.
My preference is for the G19 because it fits my smaller hands well, a little better than the G17. The fact that the G19 is a bit easier to conceal is a plus for me. I would add that if you have to add magazine extensions, like Pearce's, to the G19 to make it fit, you are giving up some of the stealth because the extensions tend to stick out and make it easier to spot.

If you do that Mod to the trigger guard, I would put hands on a model that has had it done first. Some smith's will do a single or double undercut.
Do what I do when my wife can't decide which pair of boots to buy, I tell her to buy both, that way everybody is happy.
I have both and prefer the 17 but have no problem with the 19 for my summer concealed carry.

Cogito, ergo armatum sum.
if your planning on carrying concealed go 19, if your just plinking and the range or looking for a home defense piece go 17. some times to get the right handgun in your hands you have to compromise on fit alil.
Both are GREAT choices, but until you go and shoot both at a range and see how it feels in your hand, the felt recoil and which one are you more accurate with, will you truly know. I hope this helps
I went through the same decision last Nov. I chose the 17 as my primary focus was a home defense and target/practice gun. I have G19 on order locally and will own a G19 as well. I find both have advantages and conceal carry will be the the deciding factor for most. I being a rookie love my g17 and am making great progress in shooting accuracy. Once I get the 19 I will share my thoughts. Rodeman is this gun going to be used for conceal carry? What is the primary purpose of the gun, do you plan to carry everyday? The one comment I will make is people will also adapt to the gun. At least with my 17 I feel that everytime you practice with live ammo, dry fire, or just grip/hold the gun you are becoming used to the gun. To be honest with me being new to guns, no gun felt great (at first) when I held it. The more I held/practiced with my 17 the more I liked it, but what was really happening was I was getting used to and more comfortable with something new. I would shoot the 17 and 19 multiple times on different days and then make a decision, especially if you are new to guns.
