The "slide lock" is the small piece above the trigger opening that you pull down with your fingers when you field strip a Glock...

The "slide stop lever" is the lever you all are talking about...

I'm not pointing this out to hurt anyone's feelings... It helps us discuss Glock parts if we all use the same (correct) terminology...

No problem jb. Not hurting my feelings. I just responded to the fact that using the slide stop lever to chamber a round is an acceptable method as well. I agree that using the correct terminology is helpful to the knowledge base. However I have visited and left other forums because of folks that just troll for the chance to jump one someone for not knowing the terminology. I.e. calling a magazine a clip, or something like that. I am not saying that is what the other poster was intending. I dont correct someone just to be knitpicky. I don't want anyone to be affraid to ask a question for the sake of being belittled. No harm no fowl though.

I don't normally correct someone on a part name unless someone else has already corrected someone incorrectly... Hmm... Does that make sense? I didn't quote anyone because I wanted it to just be a general comment... But it had nothing to do with your post..
