    Getting my glock 19!

Should be able to pick up my new glock 19 this coming week. It's going to be my first pistol and can't wait to pick it up. Finally found a shop that honors the glock LE/Military offer so that was a major plus. Any of you suggest a good in waist holster? Range and carry ammo? Thanks and I'll see y'all around.

Congrats on the 19. As far as a holster goes, it depends on how you plan to carry. Do a search for holster related threads. Just about any fmj ammo should cycle amd shoot fine through it also. As far as carry ammo goes its just a matter of preference. I carry hand loaded hornady xtp's in my 9mm pistols.

I would make sure that you get one with the latest test fire date. One with the 30274 ejector. Mine was test fired 9/2011 and it still has the old ejector. I "think" with a test fire date of 11/2011 or later you will get one with the updated ejector but as always, check to make sure.

    Peace

If you plan on carrying IWB anywhere from 3-5 o'clock I suggest the Galco King Tuk holster. I carry my G23 in it everyday. As far as ammo at the range I shoot Federal and carrying I shoot Winchester PDX1.

As Dprice mentioned, there are tons of great threads on this forum related to holster options and member's opinions. There are just as many great threads on ammo. Give the search feature at the top right a try and I'm sure you'll find tons of information.

Yah I know about it. That wasn't the main purpose of the thread. Just figured I would throw it in there.

well if i had the insight you did kimo, my first handgun woulda been a glock 19 aswell, but 150 handgun purchases later, i have the glock 19 gen3 aswell. so you saved yourself thousands of dollars and 15 years of messing around with other hanguns. you wont regret your pruchase.

I have a theis Inside the waist band holster and clip holster and love it. Congratulations on your Glock 19.

Here is a video comparing Theis Holster, Crossbreed Holsters, and King Tuk they seem to be some of the top IWB holsters right now. I hope this helps

great vid, the newer verison of the kingtuck, no longer requires the stiching to hold the thicker leathers together. its my current carry rig, although it is alil heavier than other hybrid holsters in does have very good retention while it is on and was built to last and thats always a plus.
