You will likely hear from several people on this forum about Ameriglo sights. I do not have any, but I would not contradict anything that is said about them, they have a good reputation.
Personally, I use several different kinds of sights.
For USPSA competition, I now use a red dot sight in the Open Division, mainly because my eyes are too old to focus on the front sight, at least for competition.
Before I switched to the red dot, I used the Sevigny Competition Sight set which I purchased from CPWSA:
Warren/Sevigny Sights. This is a fiber optic front sight with a fixed rear sight, I've seen it used by several competitors. Interestingly, I don't see many competitors in USPSA using adjustable rear sights, but that does not mean they are not useful. In my case, I found that I was using the adjustable rear sights to compensate for errors that I was making in pulling the trigger, and once I gained control of my trigger pull I was able to work with fixed rear sights better. I am not saying this is true for everyone.
For carry purposes, I use either Glock night sights (which are Trijicons) or Dawson or Warren/Sevigny tactical sights.
For your purposes, I think that if you used the Sevigny Competition Sight set it would serve you well on the range and later in competition.
Whatever you do, PURCHASE YOUR SIGHTS IN SETS, don't try to get them separately. Sets, purchased from reputable suppliers such as Dawson, will work correctly on your gun.

As Chris (Colhand) stated, I do like Ameriglos and have them on all my GLOCKS except the G38 and the new G26 cause I just haven't had a chance to get them for it yet. I also like the Trijicon HDs but they are more than 30% more expensive. I don't see 30% better sights so I stick with the Ameriglo lineup.

I just installed the XS Sights on my 32C. They are more oriented towards quick target acquisition then accuracy. You will still be accurate with them, but you would probably get another sight for competitions. Everything you need to install comes in the package and it is an easy install. The front sight is definitely a bigger dot than the standard Glock sight. It is very bright at night too.
The ATS set layed out on top of my G31
I love my Ameriglo Hacks. Been super happy with them and price is quite affordable. I'm much faster with them compared to every other night sights I have owned. I also like my Trijicon HDs, but at the current price point, they just don't provide enough value over anything available in the market.

all 4 of my glocks are 17,20,21&22 are wearing Hi-vis sights, red front and green rear, it really can't get any better just more expensive.
