Ive been considering buying a Glock 29 to go with my 20. Ive watched several videos of people shooting both the 29 and 20 and it seems like the 29 has less recoil then the 20? Ive never shot the 29 but I can def. vouch for the amount of recoil the 20 has, its very substantial and I could def. live with a little less. Maybe the shorter barrel in the 29 will have an effect, ie less velocity? I really dont know which is why Im asking you guys. Has anyone shot both the 20 and 29 and what was your impressions on the amount of recoil? I'd love to have the 29 for a carry peice but I def. dont want one if it has more recoil then the 20. Let me know what you guys think, thanks. Matt

i don't have a 10mm but i have had a g21 and now have a g30 and the 30 has less muzzle flip and is easer for me to control for a 2nd shot than the 21 the 30 is the softest shooting 45 i.ve owned or shot
I have both and to me the 20 kicks less than my 29. Using Underwood ammo

First, I have to admit that I have no experience with either the G20 or G29. All I ever see is 9mm and .40 S&W Glocks, because I work mostly with guns used in USPSA competition.
I think that grip, how the gun fits your hand and how well you hold the pistol, has a great deal to do with your ability to control recoil. If the G29 fits your hand better, and if you grip it better with two hands, then it is possible that you will be able to control the recoil better with a G29, it will be a more comfortable pistol for you to shoot.
Does your G20 fit you well, and allow you to establish a firm two-handed grip? Have you tried a G29 for grip, and how does it fit?

My 20 fits my hand well I suppose. I dont have large hands but they're not small either. Ive never held a 29 BUT a 30 feels pretty good in my hands so I was thinking the 29 with the mag extension would feel good as well. The 20 and 21 are just BIG guns, even mine being the SF model its still a big grip to get ahold of. I think I shoot it better now that I have the rubber Talon grips on it but either way its still a big gun. I went with the 20 in the first place basically as a woods gun because where I hunt deer here in central Missouri we see quite a few wild hogs and even some black bear and I wanted a semi that would be up to the challenge if I ever have to take care of one of these animals while I'm on a hunt which is why I chose the 10mm and the Glock since I believe its the most reliable pistol ever built. I think I need more practice then anything. I just wish 10mm ammo wasn't so high. Everytime I try to order from Georgia-arms they're always sold out so Im stuck buying the high priced stuff I can get locally since I dont reload yet.
