Nice looking Glocks!

Hi all, I finally got pics (including my still new unfired G27), that I've already modified.
Am I the only owner that hates that point at the lower trigger guard? The only purpose I can see for it is to catch on things while swinging into position. Not a good thing! Maybe if you run out of ammo, you poke the bad guy in the eye with it?
If anyone has a logical reason it's there, I'd sure like to know! My trusty Dremel tool with the sanding drum, made for an easy job.
AFTER disassembling the frame, and taping off every spot where plastic chips & dust would have loved to migrate into! Cleanup was simply brushing it off, and a quick blast of canned air for the final cleaning. To me. it looks like a trigger guard should look, Clean and rounded evenly...
Both Winchester PDX1 rounds.
16 rounds in the 23 - 180 grain
12 rounds in the 27 - 165 grain

No, I'm not looking down the barrel at a 165 grain 40 cal PDX1 round! The camera is on a small tripod. Yeah, I noticed; lots of dust!
The fun part was wrestling the rear MeProLight tritium sight swap. Without a sight tool, it was a lot of hits with a small hobby hammer, and hardwood dowels that got crushed in the fight! The extra length of the rear sight to the back of the slide is nice for a small, but still longer view.
Hope ya like it, I love 'em!

Although I am not one for taking a grinder to my guns, the trigger guards do look nice. It definitely makes it look different than what I am used to seeing.
Don't retreat! Reload!!!
geezerkid,
VERY Well Done... Quality workmanship and a whole new look for Glock! Perhaps you should send these pictures to Smyrna, GA for their review/critique!

Did you take the serrations off of the front of the upper part of the guard also?
I like the round look too.

Thanks guys! I didn't take the serrations completely off the 23, as it was my first grind, first Glock, and was worried if I took too much off, it might weaken the guard. With the 27, no fear! As soon as I brought it home, I stripped it, taped the holes, and was a grinding fool. Black plastic dust & particles all over the place! Brushing with an old paint brush was fast for cleanup.
Easy job really. Changing to MeProLight night sights was a bear!
I just HATE that stupid pointless point! I have not found any logical reason for it being there. One guy said it may be a factor to pass some import design regulation. (?) With our political 'Payola' system, I wouldn't be surprised...
I'm even more surprised, that I seem to be the only one doing this simple mod.
It's not compromising any safety issue, that polymer is solid strong!
Anyway, thanks again for the props, and I hope to see others like it!?!...

I think people used to put a finger from their supporting hand in that spot and use the "hook" as a way to keep the Glock from rising up...
Probably the only reason not to grind it off is that someone might want it stock if you go to sell the gun... If you're never going to sell it... grind away!

I agree, finger support 'could' be useful for some. I see it as a hook to catch on something if having to quickly swing into another position. Murphy's Law: "Put a hook facing forward on your pistol, and you'll catch any branch, chair, door, tailhook cable, or anything else to keep it from your intended position!"
Screw that! I feel, make it smooth, I can move...
Sell my Glocks? That ain't gonna happen! Besides, mine are the "Custom Rounded Trigger Guard - Limited Edition"
VERY rare indeed, worth a fortune!![]()
