    The Glock 22 RTF2 !

My latest handgun. The Glock 22 RTF2 (MSRP $599). I love this thing. It’s the same as the Glock 22 that we all know with a new rough textured frame (RTF) and curved slide pulls sometimes referred to as the gills. This is my first Glock and, I gotta tell you, it lives up to its name. For an extra $100, I upgraded the sights to Trijicon NightSights mainly because prefer a 3 dot sight system. So, the glow feature is a plus for me. They are guaranteed to glow in the dark for 12 years, even if you have the gun locked in a safe. They’re filled with tritium gas. Some argue that night sights are useless because when it’s pitch dark, you won’t be able to see your target anyway. And that’s why I included the picture of the sights in low light instead of pitch dark. The point is, night sights are not intended for just pitch black darkness. They’re white during the day and glow bright green as the sun goes down. They’re a powerful tool for law enforcement even in the middle of the night because you can still see plenty on the streets. You see a lot of people buying the Glock 23 and Glock 27, which are the same caliber of this Glock 22, except with smaller grips and lower ammo capacity. I got this because my hands are pretty big and the others don’t feel comfortable at all. The 22 feels perfect! And I’m so glad the RTF version got approved for California because I love the look of the gills and the feel of the grip. And don't listen to anyone that tells you the RTF grips are like sand paper or that they irritate your hands or something. I put over 250 rounds through this gun in one range trip without even a hint of irritation or discomfort in my hands. I also added the extended slide lock, which makes it much easier to lock the slide back and snap it forward. I topped it off with an extra magazine, making it 3 total.

Congrats on the purchase! I love my night sights on my 26. FWIW, even the Talon sandpaper grips I have installed dont bother my hands, so I cant imagine people reporting the RTF2 does. I also heard the night sights glow for 20 years, not just 12.
