    glock 21 and +p

I am going to be purchasing a Glock 21 within the next week. I was thinking about a glock 20 but the ammo is pretty scarse from what I have seen, BPS only has Rem. UMC and they want $34 for a box of 50. So now I am leaning heavily towards the 21. It still has the selection of ammo and is more affordable ammo. So my question is, how does the G21 hold up to .45+p ammo? I have a G17 that does fine with the +p and even the +p+. I am a little concerned with the higher cal. though. I am going to be using the gun as a side arm-back-up for when I am hunting.

All Glocks are capable of handling a regular diet of +p ammo. Just be careful, if yours are like mine they work up quite an appetite.

Fire away the Glock can handle it.

The G21 is a super pistol..will eat anything you want to feed it, BUT..so is the G20 a super pistol! If you are a reloader, 10mm rocks!

You might want to do a search on 45 Super conversion for the G-21. (In my experience, as long as the slide fully returns to battery a G-21 is a very strong pistol.)

If your heart was set on the G20, you can get a Lone Wolf 10/40 conversion barrel for it. Using the same mags, you can shoot 40 S&W for practice and with a barrel swap, you are back to 10mm. Mine shoots the 40s and 10mm very reliably and with either barrel, it is the most accurate semi-auto center fire I have ever owned.

To answer your question on the +p 45 acp in the Glock 21. My personal experience with my G21 Gen4. It is the softest shooting 45 I have ever shot, and I have been shooting for close to 50 years. With the Gen 4 recoil spring assembly, I find that under/low powered target type loads, and the underpowered Wolf .45 ammo, fire reliably and accurately but throw the empties sometimes straight up or back at you. When I shoot full power loads, the gun runs perfectly and the brass ejects off to the right just like in the story books. My +P powered loads are my G21s favorite food.

    Plate,

What do you think of the 21sf? Does the spent gas from the holes bother the shooter? More or less recoil with the sf? What is your opinion of Speer Gold Dot for the 21 .45ACP?
