Well so I went to the range 4 weeks ago with my g22 4th gen, fired great by the way, grouped considerly good. Took it home, cleaned it out. Then it wouldn't go back together. The slide would lock up just as you pulled it back onto the frame and wouldn't continue to reset the trigger. So I put it away for a few weeks until tonight when I pulled it back out to figure out WTF happened. So anyways turns out you have to reset the trigger to the foward position to get the slide back on the frame completely, then after a few racks the new stupid double recoil spring pokes sideways thought the front of the slide. I think I bought the first 4th gen dud gun. Thinking about getting rid of it. Ripped all my 3rd gens down to nothing and back a million times and new had any issues like this. What a turd.

Sorry your having trouble but if it makes you feel any better it is not uncommon to have to push the trigger bar forward slightly on the Gen 4s to get them back together. Glock teaches that it has to be done on all of them. My G17 stopped having to have the trigger pushed forward after around 1,000 rounds. Don't know why just all of a sudden didn't have to do it anymore.
I'm about 1000 rounds into this gun and all of a sudden I have to push it forward??? I think its junk. Anyone make an aftermarket guide rod assembly yet for this gun yet?

I know there are some bushings out there now that allow 4th Gens to accept 3rd Gen guide rods.
Here is one. I have no idea how well they work or anything just saw them out there one day. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about all of the problems you are having with your Gen4.
Sorry to hear about your problems, mine was the same way for a while then it seemed to smooth up. For a while the Gen 4 was becoming my favorite. Now I keep going back and forth on it. I don't think I'll buy another one, especially since the dealers around here seem to be lowering the prices on the Gen 3's.
glockmeister makes a gen4 guide rod and spring combo. As far as having to mess with the trigger to get the slide back on I have never had to do that with mine, cant remember how many rounds I have through it now but im pretty sure its close to the 2k mark. I have however had the guide rod problems but I also have one of the first gen4's to be sold in my area(it was weeks after buying mine that the other, bigger shops got them in). I have noticed that the guide rod is a lot less fussy than it was before the 1k mark.

Great, I just ordered a stainless steel guide rod assembly from glockmeister for the gen 4. Hopefully everything smooths out from here. Thanks.

Yeah I do agree, even with getting the new guide rod I would give glock a call and see what they say. I had called them about mine and even though the person I talked to wasnt very helpfull I gave her my info and I recieved a call about a week later as a follow up and to offer to take the gun in to be checked out. I passed since I couldnt do without it for any period of time (only SD weapon at the time). Worth a shot
