Generation question.

I have a friend wanting to trade his Glock 23 Gen3 for my Gen4. I really prefer the feel and looks of the Gen3 Glocks. The only reason I went with the Gen4 is that it was the only blue label the dealer had at the time.

My questions are, does the double recoil really make that much of a difference? (My 1st Glock was a Gen3 23, but that has been awhile ago). Is there any other reasons that I should not do the trade, such as durability?

I can't tell a difference. I had a Gen 4 G19 and shot my range buddies Gen 3 a lot before I got mine. I couldn't tell a difference. Since then another friend bought a Gen 4 G21 because he liked my Gen 3 so much. I have shot them side by side and couldn't tell a difference on that either. Now with that being said the .40S&W is a litter more snappy so that may come into play, but I doubt it. I think the biggest advantage in my opinion to the Gen 4 is the texture and grip size. I think everyone that has both will say that both are just as durable as the other. I wouldn't trade a Gen 4 for a Gen 3 unless you were getting something like night sites or something like that, that is not on your Gen 4. I traded my stock Gen 4 G19 for a Gen 3 G20SF w/ TruGlo nightsights for an even trade. I wouldn't have if I wasn't wanting a handcannon and it already had nightsights.
