A while back we discussed putting a Gen3 smooth trigger into a G27. Well I have had no issues what so ever.
I liked it so much I bought another Gen3 smooth trigger today and dropped it into my G23 Gen4. It field tests out good and using the orange slide plate it shows 100% contact, just like the original Gen4 trigger. It really smoothed out the trigger pull.
I hope to be able to get out and shoot it in the next few days.
I did the same thing not long ago on my gen4 19, liked it so much my other glocks got the same addition. I just never could get used to the grooved trigger. They function flawlessly and im sure they will continue to being factory parts. I didnt notice where the trigger pull was any smoother, but comfort has definitely improved. Its unfortunate that the smooth trigger no longer comes stock on the compact glocks anymore.

The Gen 4 trigger bar is different than the Gen 3, so this is not just about a smooth faced trigger VS a grooved "target" trigger.
Whether or not a Gen 3 trigger works in a Gen 4 gun, I have no idea. i just wanted to point out that this is not the same discussion as installing the smooth faced trigger that comes on a full size Gen 3 (like a 22) into a compact Gen 3 (like a 23).
I think the only difference is the little hump on the firing pin safety plunger. I checked the engagement of both trigger bars. They are just about the same. Both have more than 2/3rds engagement. Everything tests good. I will know more come next week, after I put some rounds down range.
