After reading most of threads on RSA troubles, curious to input from the experienced glock users please.
BTF with 115gr UMC,PMC,Blazer Brass,
I'm going to switch to 124gr nato for a few hundred rounds to break her in but need to go back to 115gr for practice rounds after 200 124gr.
glockmeister part # g4tg19cs stock wt was what I was thinking about just in case the 0 4 RSA kept BTF after break-in
We improved the function of the gun a bit with some grease on the slide cam, but the big fix was to remove the extractor and sand it with fine grit sandpaper (we actually used crocus cloth) very, very lightly on the top and bottom, just enough to take off some of the black coating. That seemed to be the solution.
We took the quick route, relieving some of the friction in the brand-new gun quickly. You will achieve the same result by shooting the gun a lot, but you'd have to continue to take BTF until it settles down. Let me know if what we did sounds reasonable to you.
If you are uncomfortable taking the gun apart to get the extractor out, we can help with a link to instructions, here:
Forgive me if these instructions are too basic, I don't know anything about your experience, so I normally assume that you would need this level of detail.

really really appreciate you sharing what you have learned with us in the forum.
I am in my infancy of usage and understanding the glock firearm platform and handguns in general.
Zero experience with Glock until last week when I traded a new p238 with laser sig for a gen 4 model 19.
I would rule out the shooter before replacing parts on the gun. Don't want to assume anything, but from your posts you seem like you are inexperienced. Poor grip can and does cause BTF. If you are new to Glock let someone who has experience with one shoot it and see if they have the same result. I let a friend shoot my G19 who has little experience with firearms and witnessed brass smack him in the face repeatedly. Funny how it ejects perfectly when I shoot it.

You guys are awesomely helpful!
More than likely the issue is my lack of experience firing glock firearms.
I am sure my dry-fire strong grip practice til 124gr nato rounds arrive and weather permits 2nd range session materializes then BTF problem will self correct.
Til then, I enjoy picking the brains of the experienced and knowledgeable folks who have traveled the highway before me so I can learn,do preventative maintenance and get ready to pass on to the next folks behind me on the quest of wisdom /skill of the glock firearm platform.
Us "rooks" are fortunate that you guys enjoy teaching and helping point us in the correct direction.
Fwiw, I just acquired a new gen 4 G19 in December. I sent the slide off to have Trijicon night sights put on, so just put my second hundred rounds through it today.
I haven't had any ejection issues with 115 gr rounds, Blazer Brass and American Eagle, on the original equipment rsa.
