    Lines inside glock Barrel

    Hi Guys.
I was wondering if you could help me out. I cleaned my glock barrel (100 shots FMJ) recently with cleaning foam (gunslick). It looks clean and shiny when you look through it but when you change the angle you can see some kind of white lines. My question is - is this just dirt or is this a serious problem i.e. finish deterioration. Would you mind checking your barrels. You shine a flashlight at almost 90 degrees to the barrel. If you just shine from the back it does not work (the lines don't show).
Also, after further inspection I found micro crown damage (indentations). Is this something to worry about in terms of accuracy or rust? And how is it possible that they appeared.

    Thanks.

Barrel doesn't look like it was finished

    What model Glock is it.

By the way, how did it shoot.

Its 19 gen 3. Did not shoot it that much so hard to tell. Is it really possible that the barrel is unfinished, I mean, really, in a new Glock? Does it being unfinished can influence the performance.

The white residue maybe from the cleaning cloth or something, I don't know, but I have.

The scratch or whatever in the barrel, no. I am not sure if I choose the right words for unfinished.

In a Glock, sure, why not. Nothing is perfect. As far as influencing performance, only you can tell.

Shoot it from a rest or a bench and see how repeatable it is. Very few people on he planet are capable of exceeding the limits of the gun. I would say if, and that is a big IF, this does influence the performance of the barrel are you a great enough of a shot to realize this performance drop?

Having said that, if you feel you have an issue with the fact that you paid X dollars and did not get the quality you think you should have....Call Glock. I doubt they will jerk you around.

Ps...welcome to the site, I hope you don't go away after you get this issue fixed. Lots of good stuff here.

Interesting, I will check my 19 when I get home today and post what I find.
The crown of the barrel does affect accuracy but I'm not sure about imperfections in the crown. I would think it would have too. My 19 is gen 4 and fresh from the LGS last December, it shoots very nicely for me.
I'll try to get pics and post them tonight or tomorrow.

Hard to tell from the pics, I'd clean it with a brass brush first. The white looks like lint but pics are hard to tell from.

The easiest way to inspect a barrel is to shine the light at a white piece of paper or white cloth. Look through the barrel at the paper.
