    New gen4 26, miss-fire light primer strikes.

new gen 4 26 first trip to the range would not fire about every third round. Several different brands of ammo. My Glock 19 worked flawlessly. I had lightly cleaned it before range trip. Stripped the slide and had lots of oil on the striker spacer sleeve, a little in the channel but none in the spring area or on the spring cups. Cleaned the channel. Reassambled everything. Tried the pencil test but it will not clear the barrel when fired but is about the same as 3 other of my Glocks it tried. Factory trip or not??

I should the strikes were off center.

Off center strikes is typically an indication the slide isn't going into full battery. With a new gun, I have seen a tight fitting extractor cause this. It will normally clear up with use.

You can disassemble and inspect the extractor. If you see some wear marks already starting it's a decent sign that it's tight. You can lightly rub those areas with a high grit sandpaper. I use 800 or 1000 grit to speed up the process a little.

I would definitely get a few hundred rounds through a Glock before considering sending it in for repair. A lot of problems just disappear with a little wear.

I remember when I got my G26 g4. It had same issue as yours. I thought maybe a bad mag; sent it back and they sent me another.

Then, thought it could have been my issue with limp wristing/anticipating the gun because it was the first small pistol I had ever shot.
So, I paid mind to my technique, and it's never missed a shot since. But, I had put probably 2 boxes of ammo (100rds 115/124/147gr mixed ammo-all Freedom Munitions) the first time I shot it and so, I really don't know. I should say probably me. Because, I watched my bro shoot it and he was doing same as me because it was his first time
with a small pistol as well.

ADD: I would take Mt's suggestion, he has a lot of Glock knowledge and has been to armorer class as well. (Don't get a big head Mt LOL !!)

I contacted Glock today. Tech support thought it an out of Battery issue. They suggested a new RSA and are sending me one. I still do not believe that is the problem. Function testing indicates good spring strength and tight lockup. I will try it when it arrives. Will report back.

The off center strike means out of battery the only question is why. Changing the RSA is the first recommendation in the book, probably why the phone tech started there. Seems unlikely if it's passing the function test but changing it is the easiest way to find out for sure.

I am frustrated at the try this try that, it will be my time my expense, for a gun that never should have left the factory.

It could not have been test fired.

This is the second Glock that has not worked out of the box, the first was a gen3 26 that had a dead trigger.
