Life is a learning experience if we judged you I think all of us have done things. I would take it to a glock armor for two reasons. One to access any damage, and they have the tools to take it off to minimize damage, and Two have him or her show you any tricks to this so it doesn't happen again. Also go to our tech section as well for more insight. I hope this helps

i did the same thing to my Glock 26 except the slide went over the back guide rails.
holding down the releases let me push it back forward flush.
this has happened several times and although i worry about how tightly those guide rails are bonded to the receiver overall.
anyone know anything about the Glock's receiver construction? are the guide rails solid U-shaped metal pieces, as per my suspicion, that are embedded in the receiver's plastic?
anyone know if what we've done has caused any kind of damage that would make our Glocks unsafe to shoot?

Welcome to the Glock.pro forums, yampyank!
I've never really thought about the actual shape of the guide rails shape or how they are actually embedded into t he pistol's polymer... But... I have seen many, many people push the slide over the guide rails and then pound the slide back out again... I haven't ever heard of Glock guide rails becoming loose in a frame.
Shooting a Glock sets off an explosion every time you fire it... I think that's more violent than slipping the slide over the guide rails once in a while...
If you're really worried about it, give Glock a call... Ask for Tech Support...
