I have a guy that wanted the Cominoli Safety installed on his Glock 19. I did it for him over a year ago. Now he wants to give the gun to his police officer son in law. The department that the son in law works for has a strict policy on off duty guns being modified. Installation of the Cominoli safety leaves a slice in the left side of the frame about a 1/4" wide and 1/2" down the frame. (roughly) The department armorer said he would approve the gun if the safety is removed and the gun is put back to factory specifications; filling the cut made)
I have searched a few threads and found a product made by Devco (Black Plastic weld) I have never had to repair a frame before. Is this an easy possibility or something I should not even try to tackle. I have to admit though, I wouldn't mind trying it.
If anyone has any suggestions or information on how to do this I would be most grateful.
If it is a Gen3 gun, and repairs are not feasible, you can replace the frame:GLOCK Empty Compact Frame For 9, 40, 357, & 45 GAP Slides-www.glockmeister.com

Does this safety work? and if so about what would it cost?
OMG what a way to bastardize a Glock. The department Armorer said that knowing it can't happen unless the frame is replaced.

Doesn't seem that the repair would depend on the strength of the glue material... If it was strong enough to function with the cut open, the repair surely shouldn't weaken it.
Having said that... I surely wouldn't use it as a duty gun...

JB weld can fill that in and be shaped. The color may not match. Or, another excuse to get another Glock.
IMO, send the firearm to Glock for frame replacement. It's best to keep factory standards/parts on a pistol for a LE officer.
