The Good Wife: "Dramatics, Your Honor" & "The Last Call"

Disclaimer: I LOVE this show, consider it one of the most well-written & well-acted TV shows ever. (As an aside (and as someone living in one of the most oppressive, anti-gun, unconstitutional states in the nation) I also have great appreciation for The Good Wife's recurring theme of slyly exposing the NSA & their cooperation with other agencies in unconstitutional surveillance. Managing to take on such a serious subject, while using comedic undertones - is a decidedly high-wire act. This show provides valuable insight to an audience not necessarily seeking it. Gotta love that.

Anyway... Back to Glocks. "Jeffrey Grant" is being tried for murder, & meanwhile getting beaten up frequently in Chicago jail. His attorney, Will Gardner (beloved, though a bit controversial star of the show throughout it's 5-season run) ends up being shot by Jeffrey ("in cross-fire") and killed. The Good News in this episode & the next is that - though they made me cry (hey, shoot me, I loved Will) - neither was a predictable "political platform" for anti -gun fanatics. If anything, it was a Poster Child for safety precautions by Sheriff's in a courtroom setting. (No gratuitous violence - show edits away from visual of shooting scene to "hearing it" by Will's associates in nearby courtrooms, plus aftermath is handled objectively).

Leading to my question... Just before Jeffrey disarms Sheriff standing next to him of his Glock 19* - there is a close-up of holster unfastened, & not a retention-holster. As a two-decades long trainer of LE K9's, I'm painfully aware of how Hollywood nearly always plays fast and loose with reality... Is this yet another example?

*"G19 seems to be the Sheriff gun of choice."
--Coroner who does autopsy on Will's body, in discussion revealing that the first shot from Jeffrey/ gun taken from disarmed Sheriff was fatal wound to thorax, other (non-lethal) two were from responding officer's "cross-fire."

Gun Control: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.

...So at the end of the day, Glock gets a Tip of the Cap for being "Sheriff's gun of choice" - clearly a good thing. On the other hand, said Sheriffs are shown as criminally negligent in their handling of assigned firearms.

Hard to call that a draw in the PR department? You make the call.

Were you equally amused that the Glock kept clicking on an empty chamber??
