How's it going everyone? Peace2my9 here from Pennsylvania and I am first time gun owner.
Just purchased a Gen 4 Glock 19. I was in the market for a home defense, target, and concealed carry pistol. While there are better guns for each specific task I felt that this one did everything well. I fired the Sig P226, XD subcompact, and M&P 9c and the Gen 3 Glock 19. I also thought about the Walther PPS. I did not like the DA/SA on the Sig and the price was too high for my budget. The XD felt too "clunky" and I didn't like the trigger. The M&P 9c was nice in the hand and it shot well but I wanted a gun with a fuller grip that I didn't have to use a pinky extension for. The Walther just felt too small in my hand and I wanted something I could get a nice purchase on. Also, it seemed like I was trying to convince myself not to go with Glock even though I felt more accurate with it. I stayed away from the full size models because I wanted the ability to carry comfortably. So I went with a Glock 19 with a test fire date of September 2011. It had the 043 spring in it so I thought I was good to go. The price was about 16 dollars more than Buds and I got free range time so I "pulled the trigger".
So far I have 300 rounds through it. On the 47th round I had a FTE. I have only used range ammo (American Eagle 115gr) That was the only FTE.
However, I probably should have done more research as I am having problems with the ejector. I've had a few eject to the left and many hit me in the face or go backward over my head.
Today I called Glock Tech Support and I will post my conversation with them in the 30274 ejector thread. In a nutshell they said to have a Glock certified Armorer call them and they will ship out a new ejector to them in 5-10 business days. The told me that there are NO PROBLEMS with the extractor!
Peace
