    Recommendation: Wanting a 9mm carbine

I am asking for recommendations for a 9mm or .40 carbine. I want a 9mm carbine that I can plink with on my home range. This would not be a tactical or defense weapon, just one to run and gun with. I have an AR and other rifles, but I want pistol caliber rifle to "play" with. I like the Kel-Tec, since it runs glock mags, but it seems to be peculiar about the ammo it likes to run (The manual says don't shoot Blazer Aluminum). Does anyone have any first hand experience with a 9mm carbine that you would recommend? My only requisite is I want to stay under $600-$700.

I bought a Kel-Tec sub 2000 last year and I love it. It folds in half at the trigger and uses glock mags. Mine is chambered in .40. Makes a good secondary truck gun, for a just in case scenario.

no first hand experience here. if you listen to the Gun Dudes podcast they recently evaluated a Lone Wolf 9mm carbine that also takes Glock mags. not sure if it'll fit in your budget though

I had just the gun in mind up until this part. Seriously though, as much as I don't like their pistols a buddy of mine has a high point rifle in 40. Ugly as sin and a little heavy but he shoots the snot out of it and has had no issues with it at all. I am accurate with it when I play with it, it does fine. Price will come in well under what you posted as well

About half actually. The base model 9mm is under $275!
This is my Glock. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.

It's a bit over your price point, but I picked up this Rock River Arms LAR-9, 9 MM AR-15 last year, and it's been a super performer. The really nice thing about it is the lower is machined from solid as a dedicated 9 MM. It doesn't have the magazine block pressed in like the Colts do. This gun ran right around the $1,000.00 mark, and is worth every cent. It has very good sights, and I can easily hit the 24 inch steel gongs at my clubs 200 yard rifle range. 32 round magazines from Colt, C-Products, Pro-Mag, and several others all work well.
