You can get books to walk you through Photoshop at any B&N or Amazon. I had to do it when I first started using Lightroom. With what Adobe charges for the software, you may as well take advantage of everything it offers!

[QUOTE=EdF702;71481]These were shot in RAW and processed in Aperture 3....

That's a beautiful S&W, and I'm not much of a wheel-gun guy. You did a good job with lighting and exposure as well.

Thanks... But I've seen your work and I believe you are just being kind! I am "working on it" though.... I would like a macro lens, I'm using a f2.8 28mm - 70mm "kit" lens and need 12" to focus well. Damn even a cheap "Macro" is $300- $400.... I might need to sell one of my wheelies!

I paid $250 for my Sigma 50mm f2.8 macro on Ebay, used of course. Most of my lenses are Sigmas, I've had really good luck with them. They are relatively affordable (as lenses go), take great pictures, and they make lenses for just about every mount. Just keep your eyes open and sooner or later, you'll find a deal. Word to the wise though: read up on macro photography. A lot of the rules changes when you get into that kind of magnification.

Your S&W looks even better on the black background, Ed.

    Nice looking SR1911, Rowdie.

Nice Pistol, that is on my shopping list, along with an FAL and an M1 Carbine, and a Ruger No. 1.

I have a suggestion: when we post photos in this forum, to help those of us who have a lot of learning to do, I would like to see the following information added to posted photos:

    aperture
    shutter speed
    ISO "film" speed
Light source (daylight, tungsten, fluorescent, flash, mixed lighting, etc.)
If shot in RAW, it would be nice to know what software was used to finish the photo. In my case, since I use a Mac, this would be iPhoto, Aperture, or Adobe Photoshop Elements.

If I could see that information it would help me to learn more about the process. Just a thought.

    Chris
