Darn new guys, they always have a million questions.
I've seen lots of people say in discussion forums, and have had the two sales people I've spoken with also say, that the Glock can eat any ammo you throw at it. I'm shopping for a G19 and think I'm convinced it's a Gen 4 over a Gen 3. But both sales people told me the same thing. Both of those versions of the G19 can handle any ammo you buy.
Today I saw a post where someone referenced the Cheaper Than Dirt website. I noticed on one of their links they said ammo, so I went over and checked it out. They had a bulk box of 1,000 rounds for something close to $180. It said they were 100% reloadable brass. I took that to mean if your shooting range (or yourself for that matter) could buy back the brass and reload them. But I saw a couple of the people who reviewed the products said they had checked them all and were impressed at the quality of the reloads that these were. So I'm guessing these are reloaded 9mm already.
Has anyone used this ammo before? It's BVAC (Bitterroot Valley Ammunition) and these are 115 grain FMJ rounds. I'd be interested simply because of the quantity for the price here for basic target practice. But I'd be interested to know if it's really true that the G19, either generation, can really eat any ammo you put into it. Does anyone have other suggestions on the best place to purchase ammunition. I'm not sure my local Walmart is the place and I'm guessing for range practice, ball ammunition is the way to go and then for home, it's hallow point for added protection. Or the Zombie bullets just in case a Zombie comes a callin.
Thanks everyone!

My gen 4 19 has ate everything I have given it along with my own reloads.... 115gr Winchester White Box, the 250 round UMC box, a 350 Round box of Blazer, ummm what else.... 124gr Remington's, 115gr PMC bronze, i don't recall the name of it but some steel cased ammo ( not Tula), and like I said my reloads also.... Lets just say I have shot about a thousand rounds through my 19 and I am a broke college student with an addiction to shooting...... I have shot all the cheap stuff I can find and yes there have been some that have failed to eject but maybe like 3 or 4 but it could have been me or the ammo... who knows... Oh and I cant forget the 115gr Hornady Critical Defense rounds I have in it now... I haven't shot a lot of them since I am carrying those, but the 5 or 6 I have fired have functioned perfect..
So I can answer your question of can it eat anything, with Yes it can.. but I have never shot the BVAC.. I haven't ordered any ammo off the internet, I have been going to Rural King, Gander Mountain ( horrible prices though), looked at Walmart and about bought some Tula, and then my favorite local gun store for the rest. Look around your area and see what stores have and compare it to what you can purchase online, that is what I did because my local stores I didn't like and prices were high compared to online, but this one gun store has won me over and I will keep going there for now on.. So I would say check around if you haven't already
I put Tul Ammo (the crappiest ammo you can buy) through my G23 3rd Gen when I'm shooting out in Wildlife Management Area and it eats through it no problem what-so-ever. My glock isn't picky about anything I feed her. I might start testing it and put the bullets in backwards for S&G lol
Glock 23
Sig Sauer P229
Ruger Mark I
Lorcin .380
Colt AR-15
The only ammunition not suitable for Glock pistols is anything with lead bullets... This is true because of the barrel type Glock uses... It is excellent for FMJ, hollow-points and almost all the ammo in the world, just not lead bullets... They are not that common, but it is worth mentioning...
...and this is true for ALL Glocks... all models... and all generations...

Thanks everyone. I emailed the company to ask how big the box that contains the ammo actually is. I need to safely secure it and to do that, I'm not sure it will fit in the safe I'm looking at, so I'll need to look at a new cabinet in the garage to keep it up and away from the kids and locked at the same time.
