The headline and first part of the article are misleading. At first I thought he might not be warranted in his use of force because it seemed like he was just pushed off the bike. However, later the article states they also started assaulting the man. Due to the disparity of force 3 vs 1, sounds like a good shoot to me, glad he was armed.

I read that and thought of myself since I'm 65 and how I would have handled that. It doesn't go into detail about what the kids wee doing to him, maybe trying to rob or beat him. I can't help wonder whee would he be had he not been carrying. A guy that age doesn't have the strength and endurance to fight as he did when he was 35 or 40. He done good.
