i'll be out for a few days
So I won't be on for The next few days. If you need anything from me, reach out to JLWeems, __jb or sfguard or one of the other mods. I had surgery and will be locked up In the hospital for a week give .or take a few days. See you guys soon!

This is a good thing __jb. I've been waiting for kidneys for 5 years come this December. They called me Friday and put them in me Saturday morning just before lunch. If they take, ill be a whole Dad and husband again. Won't have to do dialysis four times a day, everyday etc.. they just got me up for the first time and moves me from the bed to a chair. I have a high tolerance for pain but this hurts, badly! Got to do it though.

I just got home from visiting TheLaw. He said he appreciated all the well wished. He has bad Internet connection speed and is working from his phone ... and can't really type well at the moment.
The surgery went well and he doesn't seem to have any complications. The recovery is still long with lots and lots of follow-up visits over the next few months and years. However, through the generosity of the donor's family TheLaw will have many, many years with his kids, family, and friends. His quality of life will be immensely better. His family is very lucky to have him. As a good friend I feel lucky as well.
He was able to move from the bed to a chair to sit for a while just after I left. It's necessary but very, very painful.
Keep him and his family in your thoughts & prayers.
