My feeling is Hard Cast is same as FMJ so why spend the extra money ? ?
I hear guys talking about hard cast for hunting or max penetration and spending relatively hi dollars to get it when all they have to do is shoot
FMJ bullets whether factory or handload. Do the ballistic gel tests back me up on this ?
The difference is the core. A hard cast is hard all the way through. A jacketed bullet is very soft inside and deforms easily. Once the jacket breaks or separates you have a very soft lead ball that deforms or breaks up easily. Elmer knew what he was doing by shooting a lot of different projectiles at a lot of creatures.
