Once we get to 10 types of lubricant, I'll add a poll to this thread...

FrogLube both liquid and paste. Got a 4 oz. container of each with microfiber towel and brush for under $30 on Amazon.com.

I do not think there is a "best lube" as you ask and others have answered, take their advice and try your own ideas. I have always used fully syn auto trans fluid. Great for hi temp and cleans as well. I have used it for years on all my weapons.

Has anyone used Slide Glide? I have a few Sigs that have metal frames. Based on a few people's advice, I used to generously lube them. For some reason, metal framed guns seem to wear in certain spots and if they aren't lubed enough, they get those shiny spots on them and if it isn't addressed, then the metal will wear rapidly through use. I have seen a few Sigs that have the shine in the groove for the slide and the action starts to get gritty. Anyway I guess I thought most guns were similar. I recently bought my first polymer ( an M&P, which I have recently traded and bought my first Glock! Why did I wait so long haha) and I am amazed at how much better they seem to be as far as being smooth and durable. I always knew they were lighter, but I guess I thought lighter meant weaker or something.

In any case. Slide Glide seemed to do the trick in the past on my other guns. But Glocks seem to need very little lubrication. SLide Glide is more of a grease. Is it better to use something more in the line of a light lubricant oil?
