Cool Not sure if I can warm up to the Gen 4's

    Hello Group,
Call me old school if you like but I am not really sure if the Gen 4 Series Glocks are for me. I was not receptive at all to the RTF models but the Olive Drab Models stole my heart...
    I'll keep you posted!

I wasn't sure about the RTF2 and Gen 4 models until I shot them both and I can tell you I like them both as much as my Gen 3's
In fact I like my RTF2 better than anything else.

What kinda concerns did you have?

If it's the RTF, it's not as aggressive as the RTF models.

I'm not a fan of the Gen4 models either.

I took a Gen 4 down the other day and the internals look different. All of the stamped steel parts (bar, cruciform etc) looked 'unfinished'. The steel looked dull and grey. I thought they all had plated parts?

I've had mine apart three time in the last few days. I am note seeing anything in the metal work that's unfinished but I do see oddities. This plastic coating on the trigger bar is odd, see my album for a pic. I love the frame feel, g26. I have fat hands, short fingers, feels right good without a back-strap. I have cut the striker spring down, just to experiment in lue of LW spring coming, love it. Added NY 1, sweet. I will add LW 3.5 Soon. I will likely a address this trigger bar too, mixed feelings right now. After I get it to my liking, I will run 200 mixed rounds through it, if it fires 200 times hiccup free, then I will LIKE it enough to swap it out for my Gen 3 g26.

I warmed right up to mine. In fact I only have two 3rd Gen left. All the others are 4th Gen. I went head over heals for them you might say

I just bought a G 17 GEN 4 from Academy this evening. I tried the different backstraps and I am surprised that I like the thickest one so far. I dont have overly large hands but using the thick one the pad of my trigger finger is on the trigger. On my other Glocks I have to concentrate on using my finger pad instead of 'using too much finger'. I hope to have it on the range in the next couple of days.

I've no experience with them, but I don't like how many people seem to be having some problems with them. I do really like how they look though. I may buy another 10 mm Glock when they come out in a g20.
