    Glock Parts Questions ?

I've got a Gen 3 Glock 19 and 21 like to keep every part in the guns factory Glock to keep the gun 100% reliable .

I'm a firm believer that when you start changing parts and dick around with the Glocks you no longer have a gun you can rely on to go bang every time.

With keeping all stock Glock parts in the gun ,is it possible to lighten up the trigger pull, and/or take out over travel in these guns. Does Glock sell these parts to make this happen. I'm not interested in modding out any of the stock parts either unless it's just polishing the parts up a bit.

I want 100% reliability like the gun is now, if I can't accomplish the above I will just learn to use the guns well in the stock configuration.

What parts does Glock sell to achieve this, how can I buy them, and do they still make the gun 100% reliable ?

You can buy a Glock "-" connector which will reduce trigger "pull weight" approximately 1 pound. Then look on at the video in the "videos" section on this site detailing a "trigger job"... You may need to buy the connector from someone other than directly from Glock, Lone Wolf Distributors is a site sponsor and they sell them, or you can opt for an aftermarket connector from Ghost or others that have excellent reputations.

If you are gonna polish any parts, go slow and be careful not to remove material from the parts, just polish them and try to polish them in the direction of normal movement for best results. Search the threads, there is a lot of information on this site about Glock triggers.

To lighten the trigger pull & it to remain 100% reliable you can add the minus - connector & an extra power trigger spring but don't change to a reduced power striker/firing pin spring or light primer strikes can result.. You can also do the 25¢ trigger job by polishing gently with some mothers or flitz & a Q-Tip to the connector, firing pin safety, tip of the trigger bar were it meats the connector but don't change the area were it touches the striker..
You can also drill & tap the trigger housing & put a set screw to limit the over travel, It has to have some as the trigger bar drops down in the connector & has to have some plus just in case it ever gets carbon or rubbish in the action you still want it to work 100%..
Once in place the set screw can be adjusted by pushing the housing pin out & lifting up on the housing 4-5mms to access to screw..If you've adjusted it too far in & the striker won't fire you'll have to remove the slides cover plate & remove the firing pin/striker to get the pistol apart in order to adjust it properly.. This mod can also be 100% reliable & can even be removed or just tuned back till it doesn't touch the trigger bar.. The set screw I used is 4/40, I have this in my 17L target Gun..Others have said they used a 6/40 but the smaller screw leaves more girth to the housing, I have several of these that are used as saddle screws from a Fender Stratocaster in my parts stash..
Here's a link to were I first saw this mod at the Ruger Forum by TruthButRelative..

You can use a Glock-made "-" connector, also known as a 3.5 connector or 4.5 connector. Both of those names refer to the same part, it's just that for the longest time it was called a 3.5 connector but it actually brings the trigger pull to about 4.5 lbs, so now people call it a 4.5 connector.

I've never used one, but from what I understand they do lighten the trigger pull but make the pull feel "mushy" and give the trigger a longer reset.

Glock doesn't make any parts that reduce over-travel, but several aftermarket companies do. Ghost Inc makes the Ghost Rocket 3.5 connector that has a tab you file down until it works properly with your gun, and it stops the trigger bar from continuing rearward after the trigger breaks. Lone Wolf Distributors makes a trigger housing that has an adjustable overtravel stop as well.
