Reply With QuoteI tried to go cheap and just replace the front sight with a metal one and not much help. So I got two sets of Trijicon non-tritium sight sets, (Brownell's 892-000-119 @ $38.00) and put them on my Glock 19s.
Success. Group size went from 5 to 6 inches (5-shots @ 25 yards) to 3 to 3.5 for both Winchester 115 grain FMJ and Federal 124 grain Hydra-Shok and at point of aim.
So a couple more on my Glock 26s and problem solved. Still annoyed at Glock for making it a problem in the first place.

I see more than wasted ammo as a problem when I look into the overall picture.
Variables such as family members, pets, guests, and thin apartments walls, etc. all are important factors when considering the "right time" to pull the trigger.
My statement was merely that the bad guy is not going to take into consideration any of these factors and when considering the situation and moment at hand, even blasting a dark corner where the perp may be is an option IMO.
Again two sets of rules with two potential outcomes ...
Mindset plays games with us and sometimes it may not be the best thing in a situation, whereas, the same can be said for reflex.
I have none of the variables stated above so my opinion is going to differ for the above situations.

With my G32 I see the "what I should see picture". My G17 has factory night sights and the three dots line up fine.

I get your point, but in fairness to Glock, they (or any other manufacturer), don't know what you want ahead of time. When I've bought my Glock's, I've told the seller that I'd like a particular model but want it with such-and-such sight. We discuss price and I get what I want at the time. If they won't provide what I'm looking for ... there's certainly someone else that will. I know people that are happy with the factory sights ... go figure. Originally Posted by cleko

I see what you see and my point of impact is high if I see what I'm used to from my Remington 1911 .45, I'm used to "what you should see" which is both sights level and front centered in rear. Factory glock 26 sights on mine the front sight is lower and the dot is about covered by the rear to hit where I want, thought it was me but not sure. I qualified for my LTC with a score of 245 with my 1911 which has what I interpret as correct sight picture with sights level and front centered in rear. Ammo hard to find so can't shoot much to know for sure it's me.

I recently purchased a Glock 44 that has the standard Glock sights on it. My Glock 19 has Ameriglo after market sights on it, so I never noticed this problem but it is definitely a problem for me. I'm not interested in putting after market sights on my Glock 44 because it's just a plinker and some target shooting.
So I modified the sights and I actually now love the sight picture I get with the Glock sights. I completely ignore the ball and use the white strip across the top of the front sight and align it with the white stripe across the top of the rear sight and it aligns incredibly easy. Just a little it of white sharpie pen, medium width did the trick.

This is an old thread, but it has a lot of good information.
The point is you want your POA to equal your POI... Whatever you choose as a point of aim should result in the point of impact you are expecting... If your front dot is fiber optic and you want to aim with that... use it... but adjust your sights so that you get the POI that you want.
This is hard to accomplish with factory fixed sights... The marker method mentioned above seems to work for gambler... You can also buy fixed sights with different height to get the vertical POI that you want...
