Glock 22 .40 Slide is stuck!!!

I really screwed this up. Went to Range today. Loaded magazine into gun, pulled back & released it. During the rounds, the slide got stuck to where I can't move it! It's stuck like someone pulled the slide too far back. Please help.

This is what it looks like.

Is the magazine still in the pistol? It looks like the trigger has not reset... If the gun is clear, use your Glock tool to release the trigger from the underside of the slide.

No magazine in there. The trigger was pulled.

I'm new at this. I'm not 100% sure what you are saying.

Since you're new, do you have a local gun shop that you can take it to?

There is nothing "major" wrong with your pistol.... Probably the recoil spring assembly is out of it's seat and that is preventing the slide from moving forward. You can just use the heel of your hand and give the slide a good whack, or press the rear of the slide forward firmly on a flat surface (that won't scratch it) and see if it (the slide) will release.

If you have a close shop, they can help you and make you feel better about fixing it. I don't want to advise you to get aggressive as your G22 is your baby, not mine.

For the sake of clarity, is it correct to say the slide stuck in the position shown in your photo after a round was fired and the casing was ejected? Nothing unusual happened except the slide hung up? The chamber and bore are clear?

The slide isn't back far enough for slide lock. I am going to guess the problem is with the Rsa. Ie recoil spring assembly being being out of place. It needs to be lined back up and the gun will function again.

    Sfguard,
You have mentioned that it looks as though the Rsa is out or place on the photo...I am a new owner (First Gun), how would you resolve this problem? Not questioning your knowledge...just asking for my own need to learn about guns.....As I stated, I am new to this myself...any help would be greatly appreciated.....

    Thanks...

Is the slide still stuck? If so, turn the pistol upside-down and rap the slide sharply with a rubber hammer.
