    Just joined the group

Hi, folks. I am a longtime shooter, introduced to firearms as a kid many decades ago. I have become a serious Glock fan over the years despite my initial negative reaction to them. I live them now and always have a few on hand. I love the 30s and think it is an excellent EDC pistol but an suddenly having second round failures to feed. I tried different magazines, different ammo and different shooters but none made any difference. Without fail, the second round hangs up on the feed ramp. Every single time. I am wondering if it is related to the Ghost trigger I had installed in it. The gunsmith who installed the Ghost has it uhmm his shop now trying to diagnose the FTF issue. I will let the group know what he finds.

    Welcome to the Glock.pro forums!

Regarding your FTF issue... Did you change anything right before it started failing? Maybe time for new mag springs...

Well that is why I wonder if the Ghost trigger had anything to do with it. Nothing else has been changed. I tried to pinpoint the source of the problem by changing mags, changing ammo and even having different shooters try it. The result was the same every time. The first round fired and the second round hung up on the feed ramp, apparently about halfway up the ramp. I had never had any problems with that pistol prior to that. I don’t remember exactly when I had the Ghost trigger installed but it might have been done between the last time I fired it and when I began having problems with FTF.

Can you have the OEM trigger put back in to see if the issue continues ?

    Welcome to the forum.

I'm with OT, try the original trigger ass'y or at least a stock one.

The bullet has to slide up the face of the slide and behind the extractor at about the same point you are describing the jam happening. The extractor has to flex out for the rim to get behind it.

When this doesn’t work, it can look like the round jammed on the ramp when it’s really the other end.

Check the extractor for any debris/ carbon build up. Has the slide been disassembled recently? If so, make sure the extractor depressor plunger is in the correct direction (spring to the rear of the gun). If any slide parts have been replaced, especially the slide cover plate or spring loaded bearing, switch back to the original and test it out.
