Hi - the name is Robin. Just picked up my first gun a week ago, a Glock 48. I'm about to have hand surgery in about a week and a half so haven't shot it, but have been hanging out on Glock Forums and following Youtube videos. I haven't loaded it yet, but have been handling it to learn it, get used to it and learn gun safety. Once my hand is healed (it's a trigger thumb that has to be released), I will be signing up for a new owner class, as well as additional classes after that, and spend time at the range.

With the political climate, I figured it was time to get my own handgun, especially since they (and ammo) are getting harder to find. My boyfriend has handguns, as well as raised in a military family, and I've felt pretty content with him being the gun owner. I wasn't raised with guns, so I've always had a healthy respect for them.

They had a silver slide one and a stars and stripes one, and I was feeling pretty patriotic last Saturday and went with the stars and stripes. I have a friend who owns an online gun store, so I just ordered a G43 in all black for a CC (currently on back order, but at least it's paid for an I'm "in line" for it). I'm looking forward to shooting both. I was also happy to learn Glock USA is about an hour and a half from me.
